New Joint Letter on Biotech Act I: Don’t sideline new innovative foods, Europe!

Description

The European Biosolutions Coalition has joined a broad alliance of over 30 organisations from the biotech and agri-food sectors in signing an open letter urging the inclusion of novel foods in regulatory sandboxes as part of the EU Biotech Act I. Regulatory sandboxes are proven mechanisms to accelerate innovation safely and efficiently within the EU legislative framework. Including novel foods in these test environments will help companies bring sustainable food solutions to the market and avoid unnecessary barriers that could delay progress in an area crucial to Europe’s competitiveness, food security, and sustainability goals. As discussions regarding Biotech Act I advance, we encourage policymakers to ensure the framework is supportive and open for innovation in novel foods and biosolutions—enabling effective, safe, and competitive market access. We thank all our partners for supporting this important joint effort. The full letter can be read below.
